
Carmen Tham
Associate
Carmen Tham is a civil litigator practicing in the area of insurance defence litigation, including motor vehicle accidents and personal injury law.
Prior to joining Northpoint Legal, Carmen practiced general civil litigation in a variety of areas including commercial and contractual disputes, property claims and real estate, construction, builders’ liens, debt recovery, foreclosure, personal injury and professional negligence. She has acted for contractors, engineers, architects, home inspectors, property owners, tenants, corporations and individuals.
She has appeared as counsel in the British Columbia Supreme Court and the British Columbia Court of Appeal, as well as represented clients in a number of trials, mediations and the BC Human Rights Tribunal.
Carmen graduated from the University of Alberta in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biological Sciences and from the University of British Columbia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Laws degree. She was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2004.
Carmen has also studied piano and music theory. She completed the A.R.C.T. Performer’s degree for piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
In her spare time, she enjoys staying active with exercise and dance, traveling, dining out and planning and attending social events.
