Brandon Hastings Guest Lectures at UBC Law
Northpoint Legal LLP partner Brandon Hastings recently returned to the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia as a guest lecturer in its Ethics and Professionalism course.
Brandon presented alongside Jenson Leung during the course’s session on Legal Ethics & Artificial Intelligence, speaking with law students about the changing expectations placed on lawyers as technology, professional judgment, and client service continue to evolve.
The invitation reflects Brandon’s growing work at the intersection of dispute resolution, legal ethics, and technology. His presentation drew on his experience in civil and family litigation, mediation, appeals, legal innovation, and professional education.
For clients, this work reflects a practical focus: understanding not just the law as it is, but how legal services, legal decision-making, and professional obligations are changing. As courts, lawyers, businesses, and individuals face increasingly complex questions involving technology and judgment, that perspective matters.
In addition to his litigation and dispute resolution practice, Brandon writes on legal innovation and technology as the BarTalk “(Re)Designing Practice” columnist, serves on the CBA National Legal Futures Committee, and holds a Master of Laws in Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship from Cornell Law School.
