Brandon Hastings Featured in CLEBC Spotlight
Northpoint Legal LLP is pleased to share that partner Brandon D. Hastings was recently featured in the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia’s CLEBC Spotlight series.
The feature highlights Brandon’s work at the intersection of litigation, mediation, access to justice, technology, and practical legal education. It also discusses his ongoing involvement with CLEBC programming, including programs for lawyers, paralegals, legal support professionals, and counsel involved in mediation.
In the Q&A, Brandon reflects on how his early involvement with CLEBC grew through dispute resolution programming, justice technology, and digital dispute resolution. More recently, he has chaired and contributed (or will be doing so) to programs focused on civil litigation practice, ethical dilemmas for legal support staff, and best practices for lawyers in mediation.
A recurring theme in the profile is the importance of practical legal education. As Brandon explains, strong professional development is not only about substantive law. It also includes how legal work is organized, supervised, communicated, priced, automated, measured, and improved.
Those themes are closely connected to Brandon’s work at Northpoint Legal LLP, where his practice includes appeals, family and civil mediation, and helping clients navigate complex disputes. They also reflect Northpoint’s broader commitment to clear communication, careful judgment, and practical problem-solving.
The profile also explores Brandon’s views on ethics, professional culture, access to justice, technology, and the need for better support around the real-world systems that shape legal practice.
We thank CLEBC for featuring Brandon and for its continued work supporting practical legal education across British Columbia.
